Questions people ask before they hire us
Cost, timelines, ownership and stack — answered properly rather than deflected to a call.
What does Softlance do?
Softlance is a software development company based in Euvoia, Greece. We build custom software, full-stack web applications with Next.js and React, iOS and Android apps with React Native, and AI enablement work such as LLM integrations, RAG pipelines and workflow automation. We also do software architecture consulting and UI/UX design for web and mobile.
How much does it cost to build software with Softlance?
We price per milestone against a written scope rather than per hour, so you know the number before work starts. A focused internal tool, marketing site or MVP is a small fixed-price project; a SaaS platform or mobile app with subscriptions is scoped in phases with the first release quoted separately from the roadmap. Discovery produces the quote, and the quote holds unless the scope changes.
How long does a project take?
A working first version is typically four to ten weeks for web and eight to twelve for mobile including store review. We ship weekly to a staging environment from the first sprint, so you see real software long before launch rather than status reports.
Where is Softlance based and do you work internationally?
We are based in Euvoia, Greece, and work with clients across the European Union, the United Kingdom and the United States. Delivery is remote with overlapping hours, and we travel for kickoff or major milestones when it helps.
Do we own the code you write?
Yes, entirely. The repository sits in your organisation, infrastructure runs in your accounts, and there is no proprietary framework you have to keep licensing from us. Handover documentation is written so another team can take over without calling us.
What technologies does Softlance use?
TypeScript and Node.js as the default, with Next.js and React on the web, React Native and Expo on mobile, Python where the work is data or ML heavy, and PostgreSQL, Supabase or AWS behind them. For AI work we use the Claude and OpenAI APIs, the Vercel AI SDK, and pgvector or Pinecone for retrieval. The stack is chosen per project — we say why in the architecture document.
Can you take over or rescue an existing project?
Yes, and it is a large part of what we do. We start with a written audit covering architecture, code quality, security, dependency risk and test coverage, then give you a prioritised plan. Sometimes that plan is a rescue rather than a rewrite, and we will say so if it is.
Can you add AI to a product we already have?
That is exactly what the AI enablement service is for. We audit your workflows, rank them by hours saved against implementation cost, ship one pilot into production within a few weeks, and put evaluation and cost guardrails around it before scaling to the rest.
Do you offer support after launch?
Yes. Support and maintenance run as a monthly agreement covering monitoring, dependency and security updates, bug fixes and a bucket of feature development. It is optional — if you have taken the product in-house, the handover documentation is written for that too.
How do we start working with Softlance?
Email info@softlance.dev or use the contact form with a description of the problem. An engineer replies within one working day, usually with questions. From there it is a call, then a written scope and a fixed quote — none of which costs you anything.
Something not answered here?
